Last Updated: December 15, 2025
In Short: ScamMinder helps you assess website safety. We collect only the information needed to run the service, secure it, and improve accuracy. For the ScamMinder Chrome Extension, we collect and send only the website hostname/domain (e.g., example.com) for safety checks.
1) Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through:
- the ScamMinder website and related pages,
- our APIs (including premium/API key features),

- Hostname only: the extension sends the website hostname/domain for safety lookups and analysis requests.
- No page content: we do not collect the text you type into websites, form fields, passwords, messages, or page content for standard extension checks.
- API key (optional): if you enter a premium API key, it is stored in extension storage and sent only to ScamMinder endpoints for validation and authenticated requests.
- Reports (optional): if you report a scam via the extension, we collect the reported hostname/domain and the reason you provide.
- Diagnostics (limited): we may receive limited error/diagnostic data (e.g., error message and extension version) to help fix issues.
